March in Iowa

Spring time in Iowa brings many things - flowers start to grow only to be snowed on the next day, kids play outside in shorts on afternoon followed by snow pants the next, cleaning the garage of sand and dirt only to be filled back up the next day. The weather has been crazy to say the least. Mother Nature is trying to very hard to get us out of this never ending winter, however, just isn't quite able to do it yet. Last weekend it was 65 one day and the very next day it snowed 2+ inches!! Boy are we all ready for spring and summer to be here!!!!

Maya is doing great this past month. She has decided that she no longer wants to wear diapers to bed and sure enough we have had no night time accidents. It is a struggle each night for her to go potty before climbing into bed but a struggle we are not going to give up on :) She has also started music and gymnastics class while at daycare and totally loves every minute of it.

Baby Sprenkel #2 update - I had my 12 week appointment last Friday and everything went great. Niki got to come with as she was in town for spring break so that was a special treat for both of us. Doc was able to find the heartbeat right away and said it was 160bpm. Such an amazing sound!! I am still feeling great (95% of the time) so that has been wonderful too. I am starting to show now (even people at work have said something to me) so we will see how much longer I can squeeze into my regular jeans.

Maya is very excited about the baby too which is awesome. She asks me about every other day if the baby can come already - if only it were that simple but also realizes the baby still needs to grow and get stronger before he/she can come. If you ask her is she wants a brother or a sister she says "I have told you 3 times already" and then will say brother one time and sister the next. Guess we need to lay off asking that for awhile :)

Scott is doing great at work and they are staying busy. It is getting closer to "field time" in Iowa so he has many customers coming in to order tractor, combine, etc tires - something totally new for him but he really seems to still enjoy it.

Like I mentioned earlier, Niki was home for almost a week and a half and boy was it great to have her around. Maya loves to have her pick her up at school (I am not even allowed to go in). It is always hard to say goodbye but we know she will be home for 3 months in no time :)
