Where has the time gone

Life sure has been crazy for the Sprenkel family of four the past couple of months. We are now the parents to a 5 month old and a 4 year old - where has the time gone??!!!! Here is an update on all of us...

Leilani is now 5 months old and is doing great. At her 4 month appointment she weighed 11 lbs 15 oz (7th percentile) so she continues to be little but the doctor wasn't concerned. In the past 2 weeks we have started to substitute a little bit of formula in her bottles. She is now drinking 30 oz a day (21 oz breast milk and 9 oz formula). She has adjusted great to it and seems to be filling out more. She has yet to roll over, however, can sit by herself!! She continues to adore her big sis which is great to see. She tries to suck her fingers (Maya at this age had found hers) but prefers her licker (binky). Overall, she is a very happy baby and we are so proud to be her parents.

Maya is now 4 years old!!! We celebrated last weekend with a party and had special guests, Melissa and Stacey. A few weeks ago we were out to dinner and Maya wrote "mom" on the table - I was so excited. She continues to learn how to write letters and numbers and continues to amaze us in how much she knows. Sometimes it is scary how much she understands. She too continues to adore her sister. Each morning she wakes up and wants to go see her sister and give her a kiss. I think they are going to be best friends. Maya is very excited for it to become nice outside as she is ready to ride her bike, swing, and just be outdoors.

Scott is still working in Oskaloosa but we are hopeful he will be back working in Des Moines sometime this spring/summer. That would be so nice!!! We will for sure keep everyone posted. Other than work and spending time with the family he hasn't been up to much. Scott is also excited for summer as he has a date already planned of when he will go to Cherokee and pick up the boat :)

This past week things have finally started to calm down for me. I went back to school for 6 weeks and boy did it kick my butt. I took a graduate course thru ASU online. It was a supply chain class and was very interesting, however, required a lot more time to fully understand all the topics than I was able to give it. I have also been very busy at work as we are short a few people in my group, however I see the light at the end of the tunnel. Spring/Summer cant come soon enough as I am tired of being cooped up inside.

In other big news for our family, my mom and Paul are getting married! August 5 is the big day and we couldn't be more excited for them. He is a great guy and makes my mom so happy!
