Our 4Th of July adventures began on Thursday when we joined some neighborhood friends for some drinks and a fire pit. Maya had a blast staying up late and playing with the kids, while Daddy & I enjoyed some adult only smores :) Scott had to work on Friday morning, so Maya and I went to the store to get stuff for the party on Saturday and then went back to the store with Niki to get her fridge for college (it is getting more and more real she is going away). We were then going to take the boat out with the Willis family, however, they were still at the car show and a storm was coming, so we just hung out at home. Daddy and Jordan made a trip to the Missouri border for some fireworks while Maya and I took a nap.
On Saturday, we got ready for the neighborhood party. We helped the older kids decorate their bikes, scooters, and wagons for the parade, watched Daddy & Jordan do some pre-party fireworks, and hung out with Ronnie and Jordan. The party started around 5 with about 30 people in our neighborhood. Lots of kids for Maya to play with! We ate lots of great food, watched a kids parade, watched fireworks (kind of as Maya was terrified so we sat inside a house) and just had an overall great time. It was a very late night for Maya as she didn't get to bed till 10 but well worth it. Hopefully next year she will enjoy the fireworks a little more.

Today we didn't do anything excited as we all needed a day to recover from our long day yesterday. Daddy & Maya did play in her pool for a little while and washed grandma's car but other than that - just a lazy day in the Sprenkel household.
