Well if you have been following our family at all, you will know that it has been a stressful year in regards to Scott and a job. Quick recap - he left ICE in Feb and then worked at Pioneer for a month or two - then worked at Earls for a couple of months. In between there have been gaps of no employment - BUT THAT HAS NOW ALL CHANGED!!!
Yes Scott has been offered and accepted a job!!! YEAH!!! I couldn't be more proud of him and he couldn't be more happy with how it all worked out. So details of the new job - he will be running/managing a shop in Oskaloosa. For those of you that live outside of Iowa, this means a 1 hour commute to and from work each day. Something totally new for Scott since moving to Iowa but a commute was common when he lived in California. The store is called Clark's. It has been open for about 2 years, however, recently the manager passed away and the owner (Bill) lives in Missouri so it has kind of fallen apart. Needless to say - it will for sure be a challenge and lots of hard work, but that is exactly what Scott loves. He will be doing both sales and work in the back along with one other person until business picks up and then he will focus mostly on sales. Thanks for everyone support this past year as it sure has been challenging, however, we are both super excited for how it all worked out!!
Since he will now be commuting - we needed to purchase a car that got better gas mileage than our existing ones. We found a 1997 Subaru Legacy GT in St. Paul Minnesota that is perfect. It is black, 4 door and best of all it is AWD so it should do great in the snow. Scott and I will be making the 3.5hour drive to Minnesota tomorrow to pick it up :) Here she is:
