Grandma Seubert

This past Saturday Scott, Maya, Niki, my mom, Paul and myself went to Minneapolis for my grandma's 80th birthday celebration. This party has been planned for months and almost was cancelled when she was forced to move to a nursing home because she could no longer take care of herself and it was becoming more and more difficult for my grandpa too as well. But everyone decided this would be a perfect time for all family to get together and celebrate the wonderful life she had.
Back to Saturday. We arrived at my grandparents house at 11:15 and just reconnected with family we hadn't seen in YEARS - lots of years. We later realized it had been 16 years since all the family on my mom's side was together. At around 12:45 we headed to the party to see my grandma and start the party. Everyone at the party shared stories, chatted and had an overall great time. We took lots of pictures of the family and feel so special we were able to capture us all together. The party ended around 3:30 and we headed home.
The next day, my mom got a call that my grandma had passed away. My grandpa shared how she was so happy that everyone was able to make it to the party and what a wonderful time she had. Times like this make me recognize & remember there is a much bigger person in charge of all our lives - for I will be forever greatful we were able to spend those precious couple of hours with Grandma Seubert.

  1. So sorry to hear about your grandma, but I am so glad that you got to see her one last time before she passed. My grandma passed away in March, I had plans to go and see her that day at lunch and she passed early in the morning before I could get there. Luckily, I had been to see her a few days before, but it was still hard.
